Firestorm Teen Ministry is a part of Kingdom's Krew Youth Ministry at Word of God Fellowship. In Firestorm, there is 1 regular Teen Church service every Sunday at 9:45am-10:45am in the Family Life and Education Complex. During the year, we also have other special events such as Lock-ins, parties, and rap sessions.
The Firestorm Name
Hebrew 12:29 "For our God is a consuming fire"
God is a consuming fire. God can break down barriers in the mind, soften the heart, and destroy yokes in His people's lives. Fire is powerful. It can destroy things or make them pure like gold. Fire can be a light in the darkness or a source of heat in the cold.
A consuming fire has a purpose and direction. It catches something and blazes until the job is finished. God's consuming fire will destroy the world and purify His people. When teens accept Jesus as their Savior, the consuming fire of God lights them with a desire for Him and His word. It puts a burning in their hearts to give Him there all. God fills their emptiness and darkness with His flame. The nature of fire is to spread to a firestorm. The fire rages within until the fleshly, shakable things are burned away and consumed. Only fire can live in fire. Only righteousness can live with God. We are working with teens and turning the spark into a firestorm so they can stand!
Firestorm Objectives
- Provide teens with an area in ministry that they feel belongs to them and is there to meet their needs.
- Provide activities, trips and events that will promote good Christian fellowship and provide cultural experiences that show that Christians can have fun too.
- Use an approved curriculum as a teaching tool during Teen Church and other sessions in order to equip teens for success and victory in all areas of their lives.
- Renew the thinking of teens concerning the value of education and the value of money.
- Help teens to understand God's love and Zo‘ life.
- Instill in the teens a strong work ethic.
- Instill in teens Godly morals and spiritual values.
