A Guatemalan construction worker whom I'd met had fallen from a ladder about a year earlier and had become crippled because one of his legs was now about 4 inches shorter than the other. Because of his inability to support his family, he began to fall deeper and deeper into a pit of discouragement and depression.

Growing to hate himself more with each passing day for the shame of his crippled condition and awareness of his family's desperate economic condition, he resolved that he would take his life. Around this same time that he'd decided that he would commit suicide, a friend talked him into enrolling in our bible institute. He agreed to do so.

He would often come up to me before and after class to express sincere gratitude to me for my willingness to teach him God's Word. One day, he shared his story and that he was surely going to kill himself. However, he said, the word of God that he began receiving from the classes began to fill him with a positive, new and vibrant hope for the future. The raging suicidal tendencies (the result of his despair) had ended because of the hope that God's Word gave him.

He went on to successfully graduate two years later from the Bible school. And, he and his wife are excitedly seeking God in order to discover His plan for their lives!

A la poblacion latina, Dios nos ha dado una passion de alcanzarla con Su mensaje de esperanza. Tenemos una "crusada" para dar las buenas nuevas a cada persona de los paises de centroamerica, sudamerica y mexico. "Y que buenas nuevas?" ud. me pregunta. Que Dios le ama y le ha dado un potencial tremendo para que lo desarrolle para Su gloria.

Muchas veces, el pensar de la gente por los paises "tercer mundo" es que Dios no puede hacer mucho por sus vidas o su pais. Eso es mentira. Dios desea hacer cosas en este mundo que El no puede hacer por ninguna otra persona o gente. Usted es muy util ante Dios. Y todo el mundo necesita del tesoro que Dios ha puesto dentro de usted.
